• 2016 – Completed extensive professional development and training to become a Literacy Coach.

About Me

Hello! My name is April Pereira, and I am excited to serve as the 3K teacher at St. Mary School.  I have been in education for 25 years. I started in 2001 and obtained my N.Y. state certificate in 2005 to substitute teach and train K through 2nd  grade teachers in a Voyager reading program.  In 2008, I attended LTC in Cleveland, WI, and received my preschool credential.  In 2016, I went through many hours of training to become a literacy coach. My passion is child development and inspiring a love of learning in early readers.

When not in school, I enjoy being outside. My husband of 33 years and I like to garden and go hiking. We have 3 children and 8 grandchildren.  We live just west of Kellnersville and have 2 dogs and 20 chickens.  I love reading; my most recent favorite is the Book of Lost Names. I watch the Packers games, love my potato chips, and enjoy spending time with my family.
