Hi Everyone!

     I'm Carrie Crane and it is a blessing to be returning to St. Mary School! Many years ago, I had family who attended this school!  It is great fun imagining that I'm in their same classrooms, walking down the hallways they walked! 

     To share a bit about myself: My mom was a teacher and from a very young age, I knew I wanted to be a teacher, too!  There were a gazillion hours spent playing school while growing up.  

     After graduating from Preble High School (Green Bay), I received my BA from Lawrence University (Appleton) as a music major, with an elementary teaching certification. I have had the opportunity to teach in several schools. Most fulfilling would have been time in Christian schools, or as director of Children’s Ministries in a church in Eau Claire and then, Green Bay. Through the years, I have taught private piano. I still do today, at my studio in Luxemburg.

     That's the professional me!  The personal me, has had the delight of raising 4 children, who are now grown and scattered. I also have three grandsons-dearly treasured! Time with them is "the best" whether we're out riding seadoos, camping in the living room, making lemon bars at midnight, or snuggling up and reading.

     Last, but certainly not least, I'm married to Don. He is retired from the Altoona school district. I chuckle when I say "retired.” He subs and coaches in the L-C school district, plays organ and directs choirs in a local church, and is happiest when playing a keyboard and singing…or floating around on our boat!

     We have a very devoted golden retriever, who loves nothing more than retrieving balls in the water. 

     I’m looking forward to getting started with my new 4th graders, as I begin my 5th year at St. Mary.
