New Year! New Blog! 

I am super excited about our new school website and my new blog! Throughout the school year I will be updating my blog with classroom happenings, along with photos of projects, activities,and events. I want this blog to be one of the many ways to share with parents and others, the great educational experience of our students here at St. Mary's School! 

As many of you know, there were a lot of changes made at school over the summer. One of the biggest changes for me was moving my teaching space from the north hall to the cafeteria. Mrs. Jorgensen and I will be using this space for Music, Art, and Spanish. Mrs. Johnson will also be using this space after school for the SMASH program. Another change is that I will be teaching computers in the classrooms using Chrome books.

I would like to thank the John Zirbel family for the donation of a wagon and jumbo sized bowling pins for phy ed. The wagon is great for hauling all the phy ed equipment out to the playground, and I know that we will get a lot of use out of the bowling pins once we start in the gym. I would also like to thank the Home and School Organization for the new SMART board and Chrome books. These are great teaching aides.

We are off to a great start! I have really enjoyed meeting our new students and catching up with returning students. Last week, the students were introduced to the new Chrome books and went over proper handling and care of the Chrome books. This week, we started our self-portraits and enjoyed some new games in phy ed.
